Avoiding GMO’S & Pesticides While Traveling

Welcome back to franktortdev.wpengine.com. My one client that I just finished up with does a lot of traveling. His specific question to me was, and I thought this was a good thing to share with everyone was, how to avoid genetically engineered food when traveling?

Now, we’re in an age where restaurants proudly have the non GMO verified cert. A lot of them at the front window of their establishment, if they’re into that. A lot of restaurants are all organic now. If you’re traveling and you’re stuck in airports and things like that, what’s the best thing? It’s kind of a situation of picking your poison because there are lots of foods that are naturally going to be genetically engineered.

What’s that going to be? A lot of papayas, anything with canola oil, corn, soy products, wheat products and things that are highly sprayed with pesticides like tomatoes, any types of berries if they’re not organic. What could you do? From the foods that I just rambled off, just simply avoid them. If they’re in certain things, do not get it. If’s a salad and there’s corn in there, you can just tell them, hold off on the corn.

It’s really going to be a matter of picking your poison. This is, again, along the guidelines if you’re traveling. If you’re at home and you’re in your day to day routine, then there’s really no excuse for you to find out the best places and establishments that offer real food. If you live in a suburb area where that’s really hard to come by and find, then it’s just going to be a matter of preparing and planning ahead and doing your food shopping and preparing the food at home.

Again, if you’re traveling, those are definitely the types of food to avoid. Things that are easier, where they’re not going to be heavily sprayed in pesticides or they’re just protected, let’s say, from pesticides, would be your avocados, your coconuts, anything with a thick skin, watermelons, things like that. As far as the genetically engineered realm of things as this blog is predominantly, supposed to be about, again, it’s a matter of avoiding things that are corn, soy, wheat, any process sugar, sugar beets, papayas, tomatoes, canola oil, all things like that.

If they’re not non GMO verified, then you can bet, probably 99.9 percent chance that they are genetically engineered or sprayed heavily with pesticides by, you guessed it, Monsanto. That’s pretty much it. Again, avoid those foods at all costs by any means necessary. If you’re traveling, it’s just a matter of the lesser of two evils and finding the best alternatives.

With the Internet and all of us having access to the world through our phone, especially when we’re traveling, we could plan ahead and if we don’t have time to plan ahead when we’re there, all you have to do is go to Google and type in certain key words, like organic, non GMO, local, farm to table, things like that. You’ll be able to find real food. I guarantee it.

Peace and love
