Eat Healthy Fats To Lose Weight

General Thumbnail

Hello everybody. Welcome back here to FrankTortorici.com. Today I wanted to touch on the importance … I know I’ve mentioned it quite a few times on blogs, but I wanted to make one specifically in regards to eating healthy fats.

So many times when people sign on with me for personal training the number 1 question is, “How much fat do I need to cut out of my diet?” and “What type of fat free options are there that I can eat?”

It’s the biggest misconception, I think, in the health food industry … One of the biggest. The bottom line is in order to lose fat, you need to eat healthy fats. It’s just my theory and there’s a lot of evidence out there backing that up from various studies that have been done.

The benefits of eating foods that are high in healthy fats like omega 3 fatty acids … First of all the foods would be coconuts, coconut water, coconut meat, coconut oil, avocados, avocado oil, any raw nuts and seeds, any types of olives. Raw dairy is a great source as well. The yolks in eggs are another great source.

There’s various sources for that. The benefit for eating the healthy fats … There’s a few things. For one, it stimulates your metabolism, your thyroid as well. You always need stuff to burn. If not, things start to slow down and become suppressed. That’s a big no no if you’re looking to lose weight.

Another benefit of the healthy fats is it nourishes your skin, your nails, your hair, your arteries, your joints, lubricates them. Very amazing benefits for overall health spectrum as well.

Last but not least, the healthy fats have a major calming effect on the nervous system as well. Why is that important? We’re so exposed to radiation on a daily basis through technology and through various other sources. We all live high stressful lives working, taking care of our families, running to meetings, this and that.

In the midst of that whole process, if we’re not taking in the healthy types of fats, we will see a depreciation in our hormone levels. They’re closely connected to healthy fats with pregnenolone. Pregnenolone is the godfather hormone in the human body that’s consisted of fat and cholesterol.

That nourishes the whole body with testosterone, DHEA, estrolial, estriol, all the major hormone players are derived from pregnenolone. If you’re not restoring that by putting in the healthy fats to help the body in the production of that, then it’s not a great thing because it can affect your sleep, it can give you anxiety.

You can get low sex drive, low appetite, mental fog, not making progress in your fitness regiment. Those are the 3 main reasons why I think one should be eating healthy fats on a daily basis. It also comes to mind too, if you are struggling with a starch or a sugar addiction, implementing healthy fats is going to be a great way to take those types of cravings down.

At the end of the day the fat is going to sustain your glycemic levels. When you eat starches and sugars, you get that yo yo effect. That’s what creates those cravings for those types of foods more and more and more of it. If your able start supplementing that with the healthy fats, you notice those craving to start going really really really low, and you’re more sustained and balanced throughout the day.

That’s pretty much it. I think it’s very important for everyone to eat healthy fats. Get on them. Post comments. Share your stories, your experiences. I’d love to hear about it.
